There are three areas where good netiquette is highly stressed are e-mail, online chat, and newsgroups. The term netiquette is commonly used in reference to popular forms of online communication, including email, forums and chat. While some netiquette issues are technical in nature, all fundamentally concern how people relate to each other. Once the technical nuances are grasped and abstract concepts are understood, online etiquette is not much different than offline etiquette. The rules of netiquette are:

• Don't type in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS Be careful with humour
• Respect people's time and bandwidth
• Only post relevant items
• Be forgiving
• Represent yourself well
• Be brief, precise, and clear

After that, don’t try to break into computers and don’t copy materials that you find on the Internet and pretend that it’s your own work.
